Things I like Thursday (Birthday Edition)

I like cards. A lot. What can I say, I'm from a Hallmark family. I have only gotten three birthday cards so far, but as my dad says, "The year after a landmark birthday, everyone forgets." (Is 35 a landmark birthday? Inquiring minds want to know.) There are another couple of days.

However, all of these cards were awesome, which made me think of Things I like Thursday (check out Claire's blog, she is much better at keeping up with this meme than I am, and her posts are delightful as she is!)

So, I like cards.

I like this awesome bookmark that Mike D designed and sent in one of my birthday cards. In fact, here's a shout out to Mikey because in the 14 years we have been friends, I don't think he has ever forgotten a birthday card. And he gets bonus points for sending me a Snoopy card when I was sick.

I like my new kitty! Yes, he is really this fucking cute. Which makes the fact that he wakes up at five a.m. and yowls a bit more tolerable.

And I like reading clever stuff by my amigos over at A Beer for the Shower. Both of them recently published e-books; visit their blog and check it out. I wonder if, at this point, I qualify for groupie status. They've assured me that they won't snort coke off of anyone's navel (at least in front of me.)

And it's almost Friday! Like that quite a bit.

I DO NOT LIKE IT when volunteers pee on the floor.

But that's another post altogether.

Someone has cloned Jazz. That is one of his preferred poses. If one pats the tempting belly one gets bitten (while he purrs). And yes, 5am is indeed rise and shine time.

Peeing on the floor? I look forward (I think) to that post.

Happy birthday.

Hmmm - wish this post had been like last Thursday so a friend could have a reminder! Card in the mail today - it'll be good! :)

Cute kitty!

And...once again, being preoccupied with the world that is me, I completely forgot about your b-day. A card will be going out this weekend.

Happy birthday, Riot Kitty! I'll come and pee on your floor whenever you want! Jeez, did that sound kinky?

TEC: How do we get them to sleep in?!
Lynn and GB: Don't worry! I never remind people.
Debra: Thanks! I mean about the b.day wishes, not the floor promise...

Love ya!!

I do not like it when volunteers pee on the floor.

I do not like it when they pee on the door.

I do not like number one.

It does not sound like very much fun.

How to get a cat to let me sleep in? I sometimes go swimming very early. Far too early for cats (esp black ones) to be let outside. On those occasions they go back to bed and allow my partner to sleep in until the crack of noon (his preferred rising time). Hiss and spit. A cat does what a cat does.

Mike: I laughed so hard when I read that! (Hint: it wasn't fun.)
TEC: No such luck on this end! My cats are indoor cats but like to get up and play. This morning Vasil woke me up at 6 to play fetch.

Who the fuck pees on the goddamned floor ? Sorry, but that is just way too much.......

I love collecting cards too...... I think Hallmark is cheesy, but if someone takes the time to handwrite something special, I don't care what it is written on....

Cute kitty btw.....

see, I am the opposite. I am not a fan of cards.

But in a story only vaguely related...for our anniversary, I absolutely HATED the selection of cards. So I got absolutely the WORST written anniversary card I could...and hand wrote a message pointing out how bad the card was...and how much more it means when I tell her I love her because, unlike that tripe...mine comes from the heart. Death to bad card writers.

And on another unrelated note...I smurfing hate Apple. We are now on her Mac instead of my windows. And the keyboard sucks sucks sucks so smurfing bad I smurfing hate it. Hate it. Death to apple.

S: Long time no see! I was sorry, too.
Darth: Mac sucks.
C: So do I!

I love getting cards for friends, but when I spotted one in the trash can, that ended. Never purchased one again.

That kitty was born to have his tummy rubbed.

So okay, I feel guilty for not sending you a card. I'll so that right away:) Or, pretty soon...or after a while... when I can... don't stand at the mailbox...now I feel guilty again!
