Sometimes, someone else has the words you can't find

My dirty little secret: I listen to Air Supply!

Especially when I want to relax...what can I say. Anyhow, I am oddly without many words for two sad anniversaries coming up: the anniversary of my cousin John's death is tomorrow, and a week later, it would have been my friend Ward's birthday.

And I miss them both. There is still the odd moment when I think I need to call Ward and let him know about something funny that happened...I have even reached for the phone. And he left this world almost six years ago; like John, too soon.

I could go on with stories about these guys, but you know how sometimes there is a song or a verse or a quote that someone else says that sums up your feelings better than you can do yourself?

So I was listening to this song the other day and it had more meaning for me when I thought about these two.

some anniversaries are tougher than others and cause more pain. but with friends, at least sometimes it is bittersweet.

Air Supply provides the bitter, but the fond memories provide the sweet?

Twin, I am very sorry about these two losses you've had, I know you must miss them. ((((((RK)))))))

I love ya, and so will not torment you at this time for liking Air Supply. BUT, at some benign future date, when you least expect it, i really do feel duty-bound to give you flak for this. Someone has to do it, I'm sure you understand. Beware! ;-)

I couldn't bring myself to listen to Air Supply, but I can empathize with feeling disappointed or sad when you can't share something with that one person you know would appreciate it if they weren't gone.

I know exactly what you mean about songs expressing exactly what we feel, and it's usually some of the corniest songs that do it, too...not that I think Air Supply is corny. (I have an even dirtier little secret: I bought their Greatest Hits CD last year. Yes, LAST YEAR!)

I'm sorry that your cousin, John, and your friend, Ward, aren't with you anymore, but in a way, they'll always be around.

Take care, RK...and crank up that Air Supply! (I won't tell anyone!) ;)

I so agree, sometimes a song says it best. Losing friends sucks, but you'll always have them in your memories.

You do realize you just posted on the internet, where everybody can see this, that you listen to Air Supply, right?

And have you seen that informercial for some Time Life collection hosted by Air Supply?

It is so difficult to miss someone that is a part of our lives. I'm glad the song makes you remember. As long as we remember, they're still here in some way.

Music and memories together can have such a great healing effect.

I am sad for you for the loss of your cousin and dear friend. It pains me to know how that has hurt you.

At the same time, I am glad for you that you have precious memories of both. Hold those memories dear and you shall never really lose either of them. I send you hugs of comfort.
