Too fucking hot

I was going to sit down and write about things being political at a work event, but I think my brain has melted.

It is too FUCKING HOT!

So here is my lazy, but extremely relevant, post for today (except if you live at the South Pole): a top 10 list about why it sucks when it is this hot so many days in a row.

1. Because it makes a cranky Riot Kitty.

2. Because when outside, even my partly Apache skin feels like it's on fire. I do not like this.

3. Because even if I park in the shade, and crack the windows, the car gets too fucking hot.

4. Because I dislike wearing sleeveless shirts to work. I don't know why, I just do.

5. Because I am running out of "extreme hot weather" clothing, which is only supposed to be necessary a few days out of the year here, but has been needed much more the past few weeks.

6. Because I DO NOT want to be on a first-name basis with the cashier at DQ, but find myself going there all too often.

7. Because it is 10 degrees cooler on the side of the office where I am not.

8. Because I did not choose to live in a hot weather area. When I moved up here 9 years ago, some idiot told me, "80 degrees is a REALLY HOT DAY there!" Ha. Not so fast. In Seattle, maybe; in Portland, not so much.

9. Because it fucking sucks to say, "Oh, it's ONLY going to be in the 80s tomorrow!" and mean it. I said this when I lived in Houston.

10. Because all manner of idiots want to come in the pool when I want to swim.

And I'm sure I could come up with many more reasons, but now I am going to go eat some things from DQ.

..and it's cold and raining here in the UK. Still in a couple of weeks we'll be in the States, so save some hot weather for me!

"Glenn's five day forecast" cracked me up! Where did you get that?!?

I HATE hot weather. Loathe it. It's been in the 70s much of the summer here, and I want to barf every time I hear some tv newsman or dj whine that it's a "bummer summer." Why do people actually WANT it to be hot? Do they all have stock in DQ?

The hot weather gives us something to talk to strangers about. "Hot enought for you?" duh

Officially, it has not topped F 100 here in Albuquerque since 2005.

But it is HOT. The other morning (Sat?) a record was set for the highest over-night low in our local history: F 74 (iirc).

There seems to be a break in the dominant high-pressure cell today, with the temp not predicted to get of the 80s, or only a little. It's cloudy a little, and there's a breeze.

I wish science educators in school would spend a LOT more time distinguishing for their students the important distinctions between 'weather,' which is an account of the current, immediate conditions and "climate," which describes he macro-structure and inter-relations of local weather patterns.

exactly. and I start work in the hottest part of the day, plus the warehouse holds the heat. Last night at midnight it was 77 degrees in there. boo hiss. I live here because I dislike sunshine and heat. this can go away and brig back my beloved rain any time.

I have been remembering that stupid "5 day forcast" cartoon and laughing about it all day. :-D

PG: There is the next time we get together!
Joey: I am jealous!
FB: I got it from Google images. I have an uncle Glenn who lives in a really hot part of the country, so I couldn't resist.
GA: I'm with you - HATE it when people make those comments. Hello! I feel like saying, "No, it's not hot enough, I'm looking forward to hell because the weather might satisfy me."
Claire: It IS sucky!
Libby: Totally sympathize....
Coby: OK, OK!
Woody: Welcome!
Darth: I'd settle for sunshine and no heat.

Odd, as it has been actually a bit cooler here than usual. So far this summer I have been able to walk from my front door to my car and not feel as if I need to shower off.

Sorry but I'm sort of enjoying not burning in a humid cesspool for the first time in the past nine summers.

Looks like you're going to have to visit me in the wintertime then.

SBBTC: Can't blame you!
Scarlet: I'm thinking December?

You should move to UK. Specifically, Cardiff. o.O

Of course, you should be okay with rain. Lots of rain. Rain when it's cloudy. Rain in the middle of Summer. Rain even on a particularly sunny day, and you can actually see the sun shining - but miraculously, it's also raining.

RB: Hahaha! I have always wanted to live in the UK. I think I'm old enough to be your great-great-great grandmother though ;)
