Mollie Sugden served us well

If you haven't watched the 1970s BBC Series "Are You Being Served?", you're missing out on a hell of a lot of laughs.

Sadly, Mollie Sugden, who stole the show with her haughty attitude, neon hair and hilarious innuendo, died yesterday at age 86. She was a fabulous comedic actress and I am sorry I didn't get to thank her for all the laughs she has given myself and Mr. RK.

at the risk of sounding pedantic, is it possible you meant, "stole the show with her haughty manner "? Or perhaps it was her manor that was haughty...I have been in some structures that made me feel unwelcome through their very architecture :-)

Yes, very funny show. My favourite British series is BlackAdder.

Such a classic programme. Sadly Wendy Richards died recently too. :(

There were so many classic British shows during the 70's. I loved "The Good life" and another one that no one remembers called "The Liver Birds" when the original liver bird "Polly James" was in it.

Did you ever get into "Some Mother's Do Ave Em?" Geez that was unique at the time.

THANK YOU!!! When I read the news at work, a couple people knew who I was talking about and a whole lot of other people didn't. I really loved her character as well as John Inman's (who passed away back in '07). This show was a true classic!!!!

I used to like one that they used to show here on the Canadian channel, but it was a British show called "Billy Liar."

Of course now I have developed a violent allergy to all things British. :-/
