And speaking of language...

Thanks to D for finding this for me: swearing REALLY DOES make you feel better!

So the way I see it, if it can help relieve pain - e.g., when you say "FUCK!" after stubbing a toe, your toe feels slightly better - I think it has stress-relieving purposes, too.

As in, "I wish that fucking cunt would get a pair of ruby slippers and go back to Oz!"

Or whatever you like.

I think my affinity for swearing was affirmed when I was prohibited from doing it in a newsroom - a newsroom of all places!! - whilst male members of the staff could swear as much as the day was long.

Again, the ex-boss who threatened to fire me for language - the same one who didn't think anything of crying out, "Jesus Christ!" - just spurred me on. (I have to say, none of us were terribly teary-eyed when he got fired, because he was a fucking prick.)

So I have thanked a couple of bosses since then specifically for letting me say "fuck."

Have a fucking great day!

I have to say that a very young man I work with said fuck in front of me and I was taken aback. Only for a second, and then I thought, live and let live. It's not like it's hurting anybody.

I try to pretend to be a lady, then swear like a sailor when someone least expects it. I think there's someone we know who has a "cunt" in her future...

To clarify! I don't just blurt this out all the time...like in front of committees and at meetings :)

PG: She is definitely a C u next Tuesday. I've only used that word to describe 2 or 3 people in my entire life...and she fits the bill.

I read this article and printed it out so next time I blurt out the f-bomb and get criticized, I can pull it out and flaunt it. The fuckers.

And you wonder why the word FUCK reminds us of you! ;)

PS - I was one of 3 women working with a bunch of football guys, but they were cool. We were all professional when we had to be and like a mad, dysfunctional family behind the scenes. It was fun!

I find that using this word - which I do ALL the time, relieves tension...and saves lives!

I don't get it - what relation does saying a word have with the pain receptors in your brain? o.O

I mean, "fuck" is just a bunch of letters put together to form a certain sound, and that sound means to hump someone, or something for that matter. Apparently arbitrarily we've decided to label said sound a "vulgar" sound, or an expletive. So, if it wasn't a profanity, would it still make the pain go away? :O

I like saying fuck randomly when small kids are present with their mothers. The shock on their faces is priceless!

What is it with bosses who seem to have that "do as I say, not as I do" mentality? It drives me up the wall. Mine has come down on me when I've dropped the f-bomb and has turned around and slipped out with an "oh shit" mere minutes later. Just because I'm female doesn't mean I have to be a lady.
