80s!

Don't tell me you don't remember Air Supply... I grew up in the 80s and involuntarily learned the words to all of their songs when my mom played their tapes in the car.

Every five years or so they come out with another greatest hits album, which always sells, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that they have another album that just came out. And I found out about it on Feminist Review, of all places!

I asked Mr. Riot Kitty, "I wonder how many marriage proposals were made during these songs in the 80s?"

And his reply: "And they all failed!"

The hair alone would have nixed the deal for me...

But what the hell...here's some nostalgia.

And let me know how you're betting: did the two lead guys sleep together? My vote is yes.

I've seen their infomercial. Those two are definitely "lost in love."

Btw, "Making Love Out of Nothing It All" is their best hit.

Lead singer #2: Every woman in the world would love your haircut.

Lead singer #1: Even the nights are better, when I cuddle with your 'fro after I'm all out of love...

Air Supply?!? Aughhhh, it burns!!!

The direct descendants of Bread themselves, the lead singers somehow gave birth to Snuggle Bear.

Scarlet's comment made me laugh, and she's right, that song is the least cringe-inducing of the bunch.

Thanks a lot, RK. I had mercifully forgotten about Air Supply until this morning. I'm all for gay 80s bands, but how about a good one, like Bronski Beat?

I love Air Supply and attended their concert back in the 80s when they visited Singapore.

One of the band player is a Singaporean back in the old Air Supply band

Geez I hope no one ever asks me to play that song at my discos!!

I don't tend to think of who's sleeping with who. Maybe I should. :D

Hmmm, timely. I went to a Mega 80's show this past weekend...they didn't play any Air Supply (I feel cheated).

I was so busy in the 80's with teenagers and couldn't stand any of the music because it was blaring in my eardrums constantly.

well, for all the negatives we can (and probably should) say about music in the 80s, think of this; it actually had harmony, distinguishable words, and didn't give you a headache just walking by the tuneless, talentless hacks now playing who hide their voices behind massive quantities of feedback, distortion, and screaming...smurf, I almost prefer Wham to...scratch the almost, I do prefer those worthless hacks to the crap now passing as rock. Some of the guys at work crank up 101 at times. I am amazed how many talentless hacks there are getting record deals. Complete. Utter. Value-less. Crap. Just sayin'. Bring back Air Supply. Smurf, bring back Milli Vanilli!
