I am rarely speechless - but Mac, whose real name I didn't even know until today, made a $69 donation so I hit my fundraising goal! I can't thank him enough. (Yes, my blog friend, I know you said I didn't have to thank you, but I do. I'm still in awe.)
As for guy #2, I was also - well, I melted, basically - when I got this note at work today, enclosed with 3 $2 bills and two pennies:
I wrote him a letter:
Dear Oscar,
Thank you so much for your nice note and your gift of $6.02. We will let the team know.
I am sorry that you didn't get to come to the walk, but it was very nice of you make the donation.

Mac is a special person, no doubt about it.
the world would be a much better place with more people like Oscar and Mac and fewer people who find space so precious they have to keep anyone from taking it for free.
What lovely people - Mac and Oscar. I love Oscar's note and think he must be a loving kid with loving parents.
I think that the world needs more people like Oscar and Mac. I think that Oscar could show a few of the more selfish ingrates out here a thing or two about how to live and act like a normal person.
Glad these two charming individuals were able to lift your spirits for a litte while.
Side note: at least you got only a $500 million budget hole in your state. Try dealing with a $3 billion budget hole that nobody wants to take responsibility for.
It is wonderful to read about two great people helping another one reaching her goal.
