Stolen, and stolen!

I stole this gem from Joey's new blog, Stolen. If you haven't checked it out, go do so. It's some hilarious stuff from all over the web.

Anyhow.
I won't get into the serious shit about the young man I'm advocating for, but I told him, and now I'm telling you, that the three gray hairs I have (and the million that are all the way) are all from him!

Parents, HOW do you do it? (Note to my dad: if you are reading this, I fully take responsibility for you going gray. Truly, I do.)

I felt a bit old today when I went to go visit and he was arguing with the staff at his group home, and I was able to get him to behave by saying, "You will do X, Y and Z, or I will go back home and not take you anywhere!" Boom! Compliance. It made me feel a bit old, having a modicum of authority.

We did have a good day after that. We got through the serious talk, went to a pumpkin patch, to lunch, and to coffee. Driving back, he said, "You know! When I'm an old man, I'll be a cool old man. I'll be 71 and I'll call you up and be like, 'Hey! What's shaking?'"

Me: "And I'll be 91 and saying, 'Hey, you young whipper snapper!'"

People in my family tend to live forever. Which brings me to another conversation I had today with a friend. His mother and my grandmother both lost their inhibitions after strokes, late in their lives. My grandmother, who was very devout and couldn't say the word "poop" before the strokes, in particular really disturbed my dad one time by saying, "If I had known there wouldn't be any sex around here, I'd have gone out and gotten it somewhere else!"

So my friend said, "Well, if you do have any strokes in old age, my guess is that no one will notice. You don't have inhibitions to begin with."

I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not?

Lastly in this random post, I'm going to include a plug for Mr. RK's photo blog. He finally posted again today and has several pics from his kayaking travels.

I have not had a stroke, as yet, but I don't give a shit about what I say or to whom....(Well, not completely...lol).... I missed that card on Joey's new blog....

I'm still laughing every time I think of your photo of the cat who said:
"I'm So Excited I Could Shit!".....I truly love that photo!

Well, I just went back to look at that picture again, and I didn't even have the quotation right! LOL!
it is "THIS IS SO EXCITING, I COULD SHIT" Right?

Ha ha, thanks for the double shout out! That image is one of my favourites you know, some people think it's a bit offensive I'm sure, but it cracks me up. :D

I've just been to see your hubby's photos. Excellent. Just tell him to take off that word verification thingy, it drives me insane!

Joey's STOLEN blog is such a great idea.

My family lives forever too, and if I turn out anything like my quirky 90 year old grandma, I'll be happy. Stroke or no stroke.

Riot Kitty, maybe you will go the opposite way and become a holy roller after a stroke. Scary stuff, eh?

Most folks lose some inhibitions as they grow older anyway. I certainly have.

Just telling it like it is said...

While in nursing school I found out that most old people just don't look at things like they did when the they were young...we even had an outbreak of STDs... and a lot of Girl on Girl action....I guess you never get to old to spice it up

That reminds me of the little old lady we saw gunning her Cadillac through the parking lot stopping for no one. She just didn't care anymore and you had to make room for her.
After reading "Just Telling It Like It Is"'s comment, I want to live forever. Well, without the STDs.

This actually reminds me of a joke about 3 old lady friends at the nursing home who go out to sit and enjoy outdoor time on a park bench.

A pervert comes up and flashes them, the first two immediately have strokes. The third one couldn't reach that far...

I bet you are the best advocate EVAH! Every person should have a person in their corner. Funny about how he plans on calling you up when he is 71. He's thinking ahead.

I am not overly inhibited or shy per se but I am a person that is somewhat guarded as to what I say out loud. A friend of mine is a therapist (yes, she's really just a friend and I don't pay her) and she has always said if I get dementia, there is going to be some serious shit being said that will be shock and awe for those around me.

Seriously, RK..you have just 3 gray hairs. If I didn't like you so much I would want to slap you.

BTW...love the photos on Mr. RKs site. I will try to follow him via my Feedly reader. I am trying to avoid the "circles of Google+.

My friend has an adult daughter with mosaic downs syndrome and she doesn't seem to have a filter - I went over there with another friend Sunday night and the other friend took some peach jam as a little gift. The daughter rolled her eyes and said loudly, "Like the other 50 jars we have!!!" And opened the cupboard to display all the jars of jam. Oh my - maybe it might be nice to just say whatever you think.

That young man is so lucky to have you.

Naomi cracked me up. :) And Mr. RKs photos are gorgeous.

Old people say the darndest things. My grandpa-in-law used to crack me up all the time before he passed away. I don't think he had any inhibitions left. One day when I was holding his elbow, walking him somewhere, his pants (both layers) suddenly slipped all the way down to his knees, and he barely seemed to notice.

Take it as a compliment, RC.

Welcome to my world and please fasten your safety belts.

Alas, no good stories like the ones up above, but here's food for thought.

A smaller reason why I'm bald is that I really don't want to see how many gray hairs I actually have that were caused by my 21 and 12 1/2 year old.
