Epic fail = epic fall!

I totally pitched and hit the floor in front of about 40 people at the Dallas Airport tonight! Ouch...but more embarrassing than anything. (See if I say that when I wake up looking like a raccoon tomorrow.)

The trip was great and it felt like we could have stayed several more days, but that's the right time to go home, isn't it?

We did have some excitement on the first leg of the trip, where someone got arrested when we landed (tip for the uninitiated European: if you sneak your own bottle of whisky on the plane, don't get drunk on it and then get into a scuffle with a passenger, because there will be six extremely muscular policemen waiting for you on the other side of the pond.)

Even more annoying, it was like the cast of the Real Housewives of Manchester were sitting next to and behind us on the plane. (Yes, I know that show doesn't exist. You do the math.) And even though the guy who got arrested was German, she looked at her friends and said, "Don't bring me to places where this kind of thing happens!"

I will visit your blogs very soon - just need to get home to Mr. RK and the kitties, and get over the jet lag.

In the meantime, I feel totally justified eating some of the fudge I bought in the UK while I heal up, don't you think? As Claire would say, epic nom!

Oh my! That's terrible that you fell like that - I hope you are OK. I know it will be good to see your crew at home.

That flight sounds crazy! The last time I flew to London it was like a real housewives cast sitting behind me, too - one of them was turning 40 and her husband sent she and her friends to Disney World. :) This was their return home part of the trip. They were actually kind of fun, but they got in trouble after they all crammed in the loo and smoked!

Air safety and security??? If you can't take over a few ounces of liquid on board a plane, how do you smuggle enough booze to get snockered?

Sorry about your fall. Are you sure the German was the only one drinking? Glad you are okay and especially glad you had such a great time

Collapsing right off the plane. Did you sneak some hooch on the plane too?

Why is it that Germans get aggressive when they travel. For cryin' out loud, they couldn't visit France or Poland without taking their army with them.

Sounds like one adventure after another. Hope you're not feeling too bad this a.m., chica. Yes, eat the fudge...it has magical healing powers, didn't you know? :)

Ouchy, ouch, ouch! Sounds like you had a great trip, but going home is always nice too, especially when you have loved ones waiting for you. Enjoy your fudge!

Glad to hear you didn't have to punch out a wily german drunk midflight, but at least you got some cheap entertainment! I hope the fall didn't bruise anything more than your ego!

Ouch that sounds painful! Hope you are ok?

I've never had any excitement like that on any of the flights I've been on! Were you flying with BA?

L: I'm ok, just walking around like an old person! Wow, that sounds like the flight from hell. How more than one person could fit in there is beyond me. How nasty that they smoked!
GA: I was wondering about that, until it dawned on me that he bought it from one of the shops at Heathrow. I don't drink, I am apparently just clumsy ;)
WIGSF: I wish I had that excuse! It was actually a couple of hours after the first flight, prior to boarding the second flight. And yeah, I've noticed that about Germans. My ancestors were probably the same!
S: Magical healing powers! Magnifico!
A: I plan to. There are several bags I was planning on giving away, but they might end up being for me ;)
ABFTS: There is always a prick to provide free entertainment on long flights, I find. I didn't bruise as badly as I thought I would - maybe because of the fudge!
Joey: Moving like I'm 90 but otherwise pretty ok, thanks ;) Flew American but they have some kind of agreement with BA so it was also a BA flight...why, do they have reputations for arresting drunks? :)
