So tired, and it's only Tuesday

Once a week I take myself out to lunch at a Thai place where I've been going for years. The guy who usually waits on me was ringing me up today, and asked me how I was.

"Tired."

He said, "But it's only Tuesday!"

I am planning three major events in the next three months but most of what has worn me out are not the hours at work, but the personalities that go with them.

There are a handful of people we interact with who are a real handful, people whose words and actions occasionally spur me to go home and wonder why I ever quit drinking! Some people in our organization make the excuse, "Oh, but they have been through so much!"

So have many kind and caring and thoughtful people, is my argument.

And today I found a quote to that effect:

Don’t allow your wounds to turn you into a person you are not.
– Paulo Coehlo

Food for thought.

Poor persons who need to yell, as they think that nobody will listen to them otherwise.
I hope you do not have to deal with them on a daily base throughout the year.

That is a great quote and so true. :) I'm glad you treat yourself to Thai food like that and hope you get some good energy today.

Get out your ipod or portable CD player and put on some Creedence Clearwater Revival BAD MOON RISING and you'll feel better, I guarantee:)

Gee, I've been through a lot, but I somehow manage not to act like a complete ass!

H: Not daily, thank God!
L: Thanks! Today was a lot calmer.
GA: Believe it or not, I have neither, or the CD - but you got the song in my head and it cheered me up ;)
MZ: Exactly!

I tend to let music sooth me too. When I feel like killing someone, outs comes Kylie. It's hard to feel any hatred after I've listened to her for a few minutes. :D

I've spent my life dealing with difficult people, I'm not sure I could cope with nice ones now! :d

I can't stand folks that use their past to justify their negative behavior. If they're survivors they should be thankful and not bitter. I love the quote, btw.

I am tired too RK but mentally rather than physically. It didn't help when my spouse is not the same page as me......mental struggle all the time so yep...not gonna let my wound turn me into a person I am not!!! Thank you RK....take a good rest :D

Darth: Yes, we need to finish Eddie Izzard!
Joey: That is hilarious - I hope you do have some nice people though.
L: I agree. I loved the quote also.
S: Hang in there!

An apt quote.

Some people, after they've been through so much turn out differently, mostly sensitive and caring, and kind. Some don't. No one knows why. Maybe it's the inherrent personality. Difficult to say for sure.

Have a nice weekend.

Anil: Who knows? Good point.
