We have what people have started calling a "blended" family. Personally, I think this is hilarious - what are we, a smoothie? A milkshake? An iced coffee drink?
Anyway, I probably relate to my "stepbrother" - my dad adopted him when he was 1 1/2 and I just think of him as my brother - better than I relate to most people. He's 13 going on 40.
He loves books, coffee and chocolate. For years we have secretly believed that we somehow share DNA. And when I sent him this adorable picture of my cats cuddling, this is what he sent back.
There's no doubt now!

There must be something about winter... I have snapped countless shots of my two troublemakers curled up in bed together. Of course, as soon as they seem me the disperse as I am supposed to believe that they are mortal enemies. Whatever.

You have heard stories of the shyness of our cat and the fierceness of our chew-everything.
Last night I was feeding Bella in our room so the roommates dog did not still her food and Cher went over and started drinking her water. I waited for Bella to bark, to jump at share...instead, she settled down to wait. She wanted to eat so bad she whined and looked at me like I was going to help her.
And waited for Cher to finish.
Between your pets and mine, I think the animals are trying to tell us something about blending.
My half-brother is definitely my favourite relative.
But the cats are absolutely adorable.
My brother and I are close like that too. We happen to actually be related, but besides the whole I could give him a kidney thing there aren't any advantages to being being blood relatives... unless you really need a kidney.
