Words of wisdom

I'm under the weather, and tired of being under the weather, and still feel the need to post. So! Here are some words of wisdom.

Here's my new favorite quote:

Why be difficult, when with a bit of effort, you can be impossible?

Mr. RK said, "I think that was written about me!"

Mr. RK did a charity bike ride Sunday with his boss. Other people from their company were supposed to show up, but flaked. Afterwards, he said, "So I'm going to tell people that I went on an outing with my boss, and afterwards my butt hurt."

Yes, that is the level of maturity in their department.

I went through a training this week that was full of acronyms. After telling us there was a sheet of commonly used phrases that explained acronyms and what they stood for, the trainer said she was part of an IGA.

I put my hand up and said, "What's an IGA?"

And she got embarrassed because she didn't know!

Tip for the uninitiated: if you're going to use an acronym in relation to your own job, know what it means.

Mr. RK came up with some more, but they're probably too much even for this blog.

Driving home yesterday, I saw a car with a Romney sticker and an NRA sticker. Instantly, I thought, "You've just told me way too much about your penis!"

How about you? Anything pithy?

If those cats had thumbs they would kill us all.

Did you ever learn what IGA is?

If my cats had thumbs they would stage a revolution and take over the house.
The acronym I warm to most is FIGJAM. And I have known a number of people to whom it applies...

PS: Pardon my brain deadedness. I hope you feel better very, very soon. Which should have been my first comment.

I dearly hope you will get well QUICKLY, from here on out...!
LOVE that picture with all the cats and the Thumb remark. I had a six toed cat years ago and her sixth toe was like a Thumb!
I love the new favorite quote of Mr. RK.....Lol! Give me "IMPOSSIBLE", please.....!

On my first trip to Malta (about 20 years ago) I spent a day wandering across the countryside, past walls and buildings with RTO painted on them. When I got back to the hotel I found out that it meant I was in areas where hunters were out with guns...

Love the cat gang! And now I want to know what an IGA is. I only know that as a type of grocery store. :)

Okay, I found 59 acronyms for IGA on google but the strangest was Skytaxi. I kid you not. Explain that please. All the others were inert-gas atomization or infantile genetic agranulocytosis, etc.

I put that quote into action yesterday and made a very conscious decision to be impossible. It felt good.

Wow, that's awesome. As for the Romney sticker thing, that reminds me; I laugh when I'm driving and I see something like a Kerry/Edwards sticker. Can't tell if lazy or just content living 10 years in the past...

that top quote. I used to have that on top of my desk when I was in grad school. Lost it in my move or I'd have it on my desk at Xavier

I remember some "high tech" company called NBI (Nothing But Initials), just going with the flow I guess.
I hope you're feeling better soon and that Mr. RK's boss doesn't make his butt hurt anymore. I just forwarded the badass cats to the husband.

She didn't know what the acronym stood for and it related to her job??
There are a lot of choices on what it could stand for but in business a common one is "Income Generating Activity"....which covers a lot of things.

I love the cat picture. I could hear the West Side story music in my head.

Oh, how rude of me...I hope you are feeling better!!!

Oh I'm sorry to hear you are unwell.

"Why be difficult, when with a bit of effort, you can be impossible?"

That's my new favourite quote about my mother. :D

Firstly, I have nothing pithy to say about penises, other than some can be very brief!

IGA means "Independent Grocers of Australia" down here Down Under. And it is my supermarket of choice up here on the mountain upon which I dwell and roam.

Mr RK's boldness needs to be shared.

I hope by time you get to read this you are once again fighting fit, RK.

So look out Mr. RK...Mrs. RK will then have to make up for lost time!!

Meh, is it bad that I'm okay with just being difficult because I'm still too lazy to be impossible? Oh, and acronyms, I hate them in the business since! The company I work for has a hard-on (excuse the vulgarity) for them, to the point that they are not even understood between departments. Case in point: me to my manager: "Yeah, the tech dept is claiming that the CPS says that the SAR won't be complete because the MRLT isn't scheduled to run until EPDM". My manager: "WTF?" Me: "I have no idea..."

At first I thought "IGA" was actually "IPA" which really made me thirsty for a beer. Then I realized it was "IGA" which reminded me of the grocery store chain. Then I remembered we needed coffee so I went to the local store and got some. And some beer. So thanks!

Every day while driving to work I am surrounded by people with very large wheels and tires on their cars and Obama bumper stickers on the back of their cars. Sometimes I still see a Romney or two. Either way, I'm always baffled by people wanting to drive around with something stuck on their car that inspires at least 50% of the other drivers to look at them and say "dumbass."

It is amazing how certain statements give away the " person" within a person. I guess I must have read others making similar comments like Mr.Romney. LOL

Thanks everyone! Skytaxi?!
And Dexter, you're welcome ;)
Munir, thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Birdie - I think it's intergovernmental agreement. But she didn't know ;)
