Busted
One of my good friends is planning to take her 15-year-old son to the beach when the weather is nicer, with another one of our mutual female friends.
She asked him if he wanted to bring his girlfriend.
"No! You two will teach her bad things," he said.
"Well then, how about I bring RK instead?" she asked.
"Even worse!" he said.
I told her I was flattered. Apparently we are infamous already...
My 15-year-old brother is coming to visit next week as part of his spring break. If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that even though he is my adopted brother, we're more similar and closer than I am to most of my DNA relatives.
We both love coffee, comic book geek stuff, and general naughtiness. I am dreading the day when he thinks he is too cool to hang out with me.
In the meantime, we're going to go have burritos, iced mochas, and shop for action figures.
Is there someone in your life who feels like family, only better? If so, who is it?

Wow, I love the question...and I do know how you feel about your brother, and of course, he must think you're the coolest. I'd love to have you as an older sister (or even a little sister)!
I used to feel this way about Coby, but we drifted apart.
What? You? A bad influence on others? Perish the thought.
heheheheheheheheheheheh
To answer your question, yes there is.
And we'll leave it at that.
Wow--
your last two posts really meant a lot, really from the heart....
Mike
I hope you have a ball with your bro next week! And to answer your question, no, my brother (I have two, but I am particularly close to one) is my best friend. :) We talk about everything and never judge each other no matter how stupid or silly the situation might be. It's a relationship I never wish to give up. :)
I actually keep forgetting he is adopted.
Which I think is probably a good thing
First of all, "pooh jokes" will ALWAYS be in.
Second, I would have to ponder taking you on a trip also.
Third, I have great love for all my family and cannot think of who I might rate above any one of them though I have had moments when I could also kill any one of them:)
Well you know how I feel about adoption, having been adopted myself with 2 adopted daughters! I hope you have a wonderful time with your brother, and as you are so similar I can't see how you'll ever not get along. :)
ps. You are a bad influence on everyone. ;) I'd never received a rude birthday card in my life before I got one from you! :D
I: I think he drifted apart from just about everyone, unfortunately :( I'd love to have you as a sister tambien!
G: Very funny!
Mike: Thanks :)
A: Thanks! Sounds like me and my bro.
D: I agree :)
GA: Hahaha! It is only a one-day trip. And ditto on the family, at least w/immediate family.
Joey: LOL! You know, that was the rudest birthday card I've ever gotten anyone...I was trying to make you laugh. :)
Meg. Meg Meg. She makes my genes look like crap. So glad she's here.
L: Just read your post, which was really sweet. I'm glad, too.
I like your plans that you have with your brother. Nice! I feel very close to my girlfriend. We met in grade 9.
M: That's fantastic.
I love that you were flattered! lol!
I used to feel that way about my friend Steven, but we are not as close as we used to be. Such is life.
May you always have that relationship with your brother - it's lovely.
Yes. My best friend from college...Bob. People always mistake us for Brothers...we look and act that similar. It's eerie to find someone like that in College!
He ain't heavy--he's my Brother!

Yes there is several of my kids friends that feel just like my own.
My daughter also had a Russian Exchange student last year who I call my Russian Grand daughter.I hope to see her back here soon.
Then there is you Kitty, even though we haven't met you feel like family :)
L: I hope we always have it, too. In the meantime I'm bribing him with Starbucks...
J: That's awesome.
GT: Back at you, doll!
