DO NOT under any circumstances hike more than a mile up to the top of a waterfall in sandals and a skirt so short it barely covers your ass.
So, can you guess what I did yesterday?
We hiked all the way to the top! Yes, that bit.
I really, really, REALLY wanted to turn back, wearing less-than-appropriate gear. But I kept seeing people much older than me, and some really out of shape people, coming down, so we kept going. Mind you, they probably all died right after they passed us, but we made it to the top.
One more reminder of why it's helpful to have a red car. You can spot it even from 2,000 feet up!
I have to ask all of the parents out there - I'm not a parent myself, but I'm thinking it wasn't the brightest idea for some hikers to drag their three- and four-year-olds with them? You'd think you'd be save from screaming children at 5,000 feet, but...nope.
Again, I suppose, this was why velcro was invented. I should have checked the shoes.

Wow, wow, and wow. I sadly fear I would have been the recently deceased and out of shape body you had to clamber over. But am grateful for the views you gave us.
That's nice that your brother is visiting - that's an excursion neither of you will ever forget. I clicked to enlarge your bottom photo - gorgeous view and I could see your car!
Well worth the climb by the look of it!
Hm, I just had a vision of Kim Kardashian making that climb - I don't think her selfie would have been as good as yours!
That looks like Multnomah? And no, hiking in sandals is not advisable, LOL, no no no. But you have to admit that picture of you and your little brother is kind of awesome. I like it!
Khardashian would have been streaking sweat all the way down from her hair to her chin, dripping large drops down, AND she would have been showing boobs. I think your picture had much better taste!
I think it would be worth it. I'd sure try. But I probably wouldn't be wearing a short skirt.
Wow! Great teeth! And your brother looks rather devious or like a rock star. Probably the best thing about that hike is you went uphill first rather than later. Cool scenery!
I always wondered about people that did something like that... and now I know! heehee
I think it is the cutest, most adorable selfie ever! Although I have to say, as I was reading your post and you went on about the sandal and the skirt not covering the butt, I swear I thought you were going to crack a joke and say your little brother and I started laughing like crazy...my hubby thought i was going crazy.
With your miniskirt on, you probably revealed several amazing views yourself!
Great pictures. I've learned my lesson with wearing flip flops and going hiking....
I'm impressed that you managed to climb all the way up.
At least you didn't have to worry about the other hikers commenting on your attire since they were probably huffing and puffing way too much to notice.
And, could this be your yearly picture of yourself?
Father Nature's Corner
Wow, that's a whole new kinda cool big sis!
I'll leave the climbing of mountains to you, RK...I'll just sit here and watch from afar. :)
The smug smile on your brother's face makes me wish that he was the one telling this story.
Love the red car! I spy:)
Tell him I said HI!!!!
It sure is Beautiful there....I am amazed that you were able to go all the way to the top in those shoes....You are more than a Good Sport---you are a wonderful sister!
RK the younger definitely looks up to no good. I respect that.
I love that parking lot shot. As a fellow bright red car owner, I know the feeling. It's awesome.
Oh, and I wouldn't bring along a 3-4 year old kid with me hiking. Our friend has a 3 year old, and he just leaves him at home, if only for the fact that he'd just end up carrying him the whole way after he got tired/bored/both.
I have never dressed appropriately, but will confess, I have never worn a mini skirt, so you beat me. :D
Love the photo, and yeah your car shows up. Red is a powerful colour.
Next time, more boob please. Okay that's joke. ;)
What a lovely place. Beautiful photos too.
Oh, and showing boobs with family present is really the only way to show you truly care for them.
What, that's not true?
great photos! wow, love this shot!
your brother is such a handsome guy and you look gorgeous, rk!!
xoxo
