Around this time of year, certain things happen to provide evidence that spring is on the way. Among them: Girl Scout cookies (nom), Cadbury eggs (also nom), cherry and plum blossoms.
Indeed, Tuesday is officially the first day of spring.
And yet...there was FUCKING SNOW last week. Yes, this looks pretty for about a minute, until I get on the freeway and no one can drive in it and my half-hour commute turns into a 90-minute commute. And both of my colleagues live 5 minutes away.
And it is supposed to fucking snow today. And yes, I feel very entitled using the word fuck because, well, what the fuck?!
What the hell? My relatives in Illinois tell me it is IN THE 80s!
I don't need it to be in the 80s. I just want a little compromise here.
I mean, the Easter bunny is going to skip town at this rate.
I'm going on strike. I officially refuse to recognize the weather until it behaves.
Apparently I'm not the only one who feels this way, because yesterday (which got up to a balmy 45 degrees) I saw people wearing shorts. Many people. It made me cold just looking at them.
I'm not going that far. I'll just be here doing a warm weather dance.

Spring is definitely here where I live. It is a sunny 80 degrees when normally this time of year it's only 35 or 40 tops!
To continue on with the Shakespearean vibe: Effin winter, begone!
Well, I live in Texas and it was 85last week before it dropped to 30 something, but it is getting up to spring speed.
Came from Anil P's blog and was wondering if you were British.
Happy Spring sometime for you. :D Truly it will get warmer.
It has arrived in Atlanta, GA. A woman at the oil change place was grousing about the early heat (she was wearing a tank top and shorts) and said that it was due to some sort of air stream over Canada. I guess it was the east coast part of Canada. Wish we could trade off a little weather with Oregon.
It's been spring here since January. I am not enjoying it as much as I thought I would...
And....it's been in the hi 60's/lo 70's this weekend.
For comparison purposes, this time last year we were still digging out from the 150+ inches of snow we got for the season.
For what its worth, word verify is "fillying eatiman"
Just goes to show ya: it's 80+ here already in central Indiana and we got only two minor snows this winter (didn't shovel *once*--- weird).
Stay warm!
WD: Where do you live? And can I move there?
DSWS: Amen, sister!
Amber: That sounds like typical Texas weather (I lived in Houston when I was little, and remember a February when it was 80 and then snowed a few days later.) I am not British, just love England :)
Lynn: Yes! Let's trade!
Libby: I would. Lend me your place? :)
G: Fillying eatiman? Is that a new cereal? Yeah, you definitely deserve a break after the winter you had in 10-11.
Skye: Hello! Long time no chat! My great uncle in Illinois is equally baffled, and resisting the urge to turn on the AC.
It's still raining here, and there's a ghost that won't leave me alone. Easter bunnies hate ghosts.
Stop stealing my winter. It's 20 degrees outside dammit! (That's like 70 in America temperature.) I want my winter back!
I hate to rub it in, but it's been 80's here in Denver last week too. Best of luck getting some warmer temps!
NV: I imagine they do! Can you give it a Cadbury egg?
WIGSF: You can have it back! Give me my spring!!
ABFTS: Thanks...yeah, you are rubbing it in, but I like you anyway.
for what it is worth...it was 85 in North Dakota today. Just sayin
Darth: Rub it in, why don't you!
The Cadbury Bunny can't "come" for Easter?
Why? So glad you asked...
Because He froze his Balls off.....wait, what has that got to do with Easter?
Nothing I guess, I just wanted to write Frozen Balls on a Blog!
Thanks for the opportunity--you're the Best!
Hugs,
J
John: Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh ;)
Indiana.
WD: Oh! I can't stand it.
The state of Oklahoma has a multiple personality disorder. One day we are burning up in 80 degree temps and the next day it snows then warm again (another trick) and then rain storms and flooding (now). Hopefully we will see sunshine for at least a couple of days left in the grandkids spring break.
GA: Sounds like Houston when I was growing up!
We are supposed to have sun tomorrow...crossing my fingers for you, too ;)
The end of days in near -- that's all I can figure. A weather apocalypse.
DC: My dad says, "Global warming in the Midwest, global fuck-you in the Northwest."
