Sometimes I wonder if the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it. - Mark Twain

How awesome is this?
Normally I scoff at people who geek out about electronics - Mr. RK, family and friends included. The only things I like to spend extra money on are 1) people I like and 2) experiences (trips, etc) and 3) bras and shoes - those are things that are an investment, lest the body parts look and feel like shit later in life.
But I got hypnotized by a little pink phone - and Mr. RK bought it for me for my birthday! Of course I didn't wait until the actual day (come on, would you?) Nope, I'm the person who wants to open presents at midnight on Xmas Eve and rips open birthday cards the minute they arrive.
In fact, this phone has me sort of in a vampiric trance...or maybe it's because I started reading Anne Rice?
What do you geek out about?

My preferences for spending money are much the same as yours, although being a man I can pass on the shoes. The bras? Can I come back to you on that…..
Good luck with your new phone.
All the best, Boonie
I was on the same page as you until you said you tripped out on this phone. I still have my old phone from three years ago and have no plan on upgrading until it completely craps out.
I definitely believe that investing in a good bra is essential.
Um...words, mainly. Surprise!
I got really excited the other day when I realised that 'teasel' and 'thistle' (both names of spiky plants that grow near my house) were basically the same word in different accents.
What?? I missed your birthday??? Happy Belated Birthday, amiguita! I'm sorry, I've been so out of it lately. :(
I get geeky about art supplies. Someone wrote something about souffle markers on a blog a few days and they're all I keep thinking about.
Dagnabbit, woman, when is your freaking birthdaay???? You've got to open your little mouth and SAY SOMETHING, so that people who LOVE you (like me) can get you something!
Sheesh.
But the phone is very cool.
PS--I always thought you were a cat. You're not a cat? Wow. Really?
Another rare picture of you that we can make fun of. :D
My wife has the exact same phone.
BTW: most phones don't capture missed calls if they're turned off. :D
And finally, I still have my moldy oldy of a flip phone that I bought back in 2006. Still works some five years later.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd keep your eyes peeled for something to pop later in the week, because you know I can't just sit on my hands and do nothing.
As for geeking out, the only thing I would truly geek out about, is a promotion or being acknowledged by someone important who has good taste in reading material.
I have a phone that is similar to yours, only it is black. I finally had the internet turned off to it, because it kept connecting somehow by itself - I guess by bumping up against things in my purse.
So I guess I'm not a technology geek, but I do geek out about books. I love a book. And not that Kindle thing - an actual bound book.
Happy Birthday to you sometime soon, or sometime past. Happy Birthday to you, you crazy loon, go have a blast!
That's it from me. Oh wait, I love office supplies, art supplies and laptop computers.
I should mention: my old phone was dying and I also could not find replacement batteries or accessories.
Also, FB and Ily, no worries, my b.day is not until Wednesday!
The old phone was awesome, it gave us excuses to walk around the NYC!!!
Maybe I can send you a picture and you'll get it on your phone!!
And I have no comment on the bra lest I want to get cross-country slapped.
Books. I'm totally geeky about books.
Caps. Does that count?
Is the phone stuck to your mouth?
My 15 year old is obsessed with bras, should I be worried?
Mike: Sorry I sent it to a nonprofit...I would have sent it to you!
MZ: Ditto.
Joey: It was a joke along the lines of vampiric ;) Nah, you shouldn't worry.
I polish my iPhone seven times a day. And it isn't that pretty...
Geek out with pride.
I am with you on #3...
Happy B-day and hoping this year brings you everything you wish for.
Bras, bras, bras. Especially since discovering Bravissimo!
Happy birthday, sweet girl!
Cxx
OMG, I missed it twice. Happy Belated B-Day, Chica!! xo
PS - I blame it on the second antibiotic and prescription cough syrup. I actually start the new job TODAY since I've been so sick and lethargic...but it's no excuse. I'm sorry I missed it. :(
Libby: I have been doing exactly that!
Darth: Thanks!
Claire: What is Bravissino? Thanks for the b.day wishes!
Ily: Nope, I never told you, so don't worry! And feel better :)
