Too tired to meow

We moved this past weekend. There is no internet at my house. Don't get me started, but I will visit all of your blogs as soon as I can.
Things I have learned:

1. The house was previously populated by stoners who were just out of college. I know this because when Mr. RK went to see the place, the master bedroom was locked, there were tapestries everywhere, and I keep getting their unpaid bills in the mail. How do people go through life like this and manage to tie their shoes? Oh, right - that's what velcro is for.

2. I have muscles I didn't know existed before last week.
3. Every new cupboard is a new place for a cat to explore - hence, Bang! Bang! Bang! That would be the cupboard doors.

4. Stairs mean my cat Vasil wants to chase his little cat soccer balls up and down them at midnight. And yeowl up the stairs, just to hear his own echo.

5. One mocha is not enough today.

Hahaha! I mean, oh so sorry! Brings back all the awful memories of moving day for me. At least the cats having a good time!

Cats are so funny about moves. A stoner house? Ugh. I remember a neighborhood let's say 2 mins from where I work... being seized by the police. Out front on the driveway were two black plastic wrapped somethings. Looked like plants to me.

The next day, I read on the news that there was the biggest ever pot busts going on in my county. Five houses were seized and that one by where I worked was one of them. So those plants were actually marijuana! All clumped together and wrapped up in black saran wrap. A few of them.

NOW? I drove by one of the main streets of my town and saw a big "Green" apothecary. Since pot became legal in my state, you can see them everywhere. Green cross on a flag is a signal that the place sells weed. I am learning SO MUCH since it became legal!

But hey, congratulations on the move! I hope its a better place than the last. Your kitty is enjoying it!

I love cats. :)

When I moved to the place I live in now, I woke the next morning, looked at the piles of boxes and burst into tears. So I quite understand - it's exhausting. Wish I was there to bring you a mocha!

Gawd, moving is a pain in the ass. You have my sympathies. But once you're all settled, may you enjoy your new place and have nothing but health, love and happiness there!

Stoners? OY! Does the whole place smell like Pot?

Much good luck in your new home! May you be very very happy there and have ALL good things happen, too!

The locked room and the tapestries tell me that they were swingers.

Too tired to meow perhaps - but the hissing and spitting muscles are stronger...

Well, congrats on being in a new place! Sounds like your cat's loving it. lol You will, too, after you get that second mocha! PS - My email is ilyzu1216@yahoo.com. Is that the one you've been using? I have about 6 but get lots of Spam and only check two of them now.

Ugh, moving! Well, at least you're in now and the cats made it. The master bedroom was locked? Was it full of plants and grow lights or what??

No internet is a death sentence. And I know exactly what you mean about not knowing about certain muscles.

One leg day long ago crippled me.

That pic of the cat under the couch is priceless. Reminds me of when I moved back to Newington.

I was going to rent a truck. Nonsense parental unit says, your brother has a pick up truck.

Suffice to say, a few items disappeared in transit.

Hey, my shoes have velcro!

Ha! We're in the same boat well, except for the stoners and the tapestries. Moved in with a handful of furniture, hear echoes of the cats howling all day long. Or the banging of cats exploring new cupboards.

Having just moved myself, I totally get it. It's exhausting and painful. And exhausting. We, however, made sure to have internet access before we moved in. And my cat hid under the bed for the first 2 days- no way was he gonna explore anything. He was scared sh*tless. But after two weeks, he began "ruling" once again. So all's good...
Hope things settle down for you soon!

I have not moved in 37 years and was a very young woman. Now, I think it would kill me.

Ah, a new abode to explore. I am sure the cat will be into all sorts of new adventures/mischief before long.

Sounds like the new house has an interesting backstory. A locked master bedroom? Which side of the door was locked? To keep people out in?

Gotta say, as an old man with a big belly I appreciate velcro myself.

Not asking about how you posted this without the internet. I have moved 27 times in my life and am glad it is you moving and not I.

Hello, muscles... And don't you just love cats? Meow!

Glad you are safely in your new home. Sounds like the cats are enjoying it even if you aren't so much. One Mocha is never enough.

Congrats on the move! So... we have a 3 story townhouse, meaning a LOT of stairs. My cat is the lightest animal in the house, but I swear, when she's running up and down the entire house at midnight she sounds like a bear falling down the stairs. I don't know how she does it. Our 12 lb cat can wake everyone in the house with one heavy-footed sweep.

1.the smell if any is left will dissipate over time. your real concern with stoners is whats hidden in the weirdest places, be sure to check the vents and any loose floor boards or panels as they hide the strangest stuff in the weirdest places
2. your what hurts?
3. cats, cats, cats
4. cats
5. there is never enough mocha until you've already had too much
