Consider yourself tagged

If you are reading this. I got tagged by my friend GB Miller in this writing meme. And as you all blog, that means you all write, which means you can all participate.

1) What are you currently working on?
This post. Just kidding. I blog once or twice a week depending on my schedule and fancy, and I'm also working on another children's book.

2) How does your work  differ from others in the same genre?
I think everyone would like to think they're unique, so I really can't say. I think I have fewer filters than other people when writing for myself. With the children's books, I make a point of not talking down to the audience. Not unique, but maybe unusual these days.
 3) Why do you write what you write?
Blogging is therapeutic, and it ranges from essay writing to humor writing to social justice writing. I literally have to write - it's a necessity. Words have been bubbling in my brain since before I could talk, which was, incidentally, early in life!

With the children's fiction, I am trying to create a happy place. Kind of like that feeling you get when you read Winne-the-Pooh. That's what I'm aiming for. A sweet, happy place with some humor.

4) Describe your writing process.
For any kind of writing I'm working on, the longest process is the thought process behind it - the ideas rolling around in my head. After those are ironed out, it's a matter of sitting and typing it out. That part is usually rather fast.

How about you?

My writing process is usually the contrary. I put all my thoughts on paper, which is a very quick process. Then I look at it again, thinking how awful it is. I go through it a second time to polish everything up. Then a second round of polishing and I'm usually done. If that third round goes because of lack of time, you can usually tell by reading my text :)

And the things I'm working on: did a first draft today for several movie and book reviews for my personal blogs, a few final edits and changes for my upcoming book, and final edits on a short film script.

Interesting, I didn't know you were so passionate about writing. I mean I know you write children's books but I didn't realise you found it therapeutic.

I don't know if I could class myself as a writer really, sounds a bit too high brow for the crap I write on my blog! :D

Kewl beanie babies....:D

I feel the exact same way about To Kill A Mockingbird that the kitten does. I mean, ya know, no birds were harmed within the story. I mean, what gives?

It is just something I have to do.

lol at the lol cat reading To Kill a Mockingbird! :)

I enjoy blogging and use it as a bit of an outlet for writing, but only a bit. My job and life are keeping me so busy that I don't have as much time as I used to.

So....does that mean I've been tagged too??? Lol.

I'll probably do this soon. I've done it before but it could use some updating.

Well, this is an interesting glimpse at your inner workings! I always enjoy your posts - along with the accompanying appropriate lolcats! You always have something interesting or fun to say, but don't come off as trying too hard.

Like you, I feel a "need" to write, but don't really think of myself as a writer. I'm just glad blogging is a thing.

This was so interesting, my dear....I don't seem to be able to write anything these days....Nothing much to say, I'm afraid, yet, writing is very important to me but.....Well, maybe the muse is resting, like me.....!
I always look forward to your posts and love the pictures and captions.....The Cat and "To Kill A Mocking Bird" is funny.....and of course, the title of the book and the film is a metaphor, sort of....It's really about the fragility of people and especially Boo.....I LOVE the other picture too---the cat and his pencil....lol.....sweet!

Here you go, RK! You asked for it!

1) What are you currently working on? Nothing…I’m being slack.

2) How does your work differ from others in the same genre? It doesn’t…nothing is nothing…nothing changes. Actually nothing never changes..

3) Why do you write what you write? I enjoy writing my tales and bits of nonsensical nonsense. People can’t interrupt you, like they do if you’re talking with them!!

4) Describe your writing process. Start off with one or two words…and let the mind flow and do the rest at will.

I just kinda start writing and let the story go where it wants to go. I don't know if that's laziness, or me just trying to excuse mental illness (no, the story tells itself, really, it does!).
